Visitor Challenge

Last season marked the launch of the Visitor Challenge, a new fundraising campaign at the Glass House.  We asked each visitor to make a gift of $25 to the Glass House and share a reflection from their experience.  Here is what some people had to say about their visit last year:

“Far more impressive than all the photographs I have seen.” – Susan McCormick

“With those views, why would you ever leave?” – Kurt Schoknecht

“It’s thrilling to not only see the Glass House but to gain perspective on the entire history of an absolutely amazing man!” – Carol Harper

“A magical experience – interesting, educational, and spiritual” – Harriet Plavoukos

With your help we raised close to $25,000 last year for the Glass House Visitor Challenge. This season as the renovations of the Brick House begin, we need your support more than ever.  Every donation of $25 supports our ability to preserve 14 buildings and structures, a collection of contemporary artwork, and a 47 acre landscape.  Additionally, you will be supporting our mission-based programs to foster new ideas and cultivate talent as seen in the Glass House Conversations program, Architecture Retreats, Oral History Projects, and Commissions program.

We invite you to participate and help us build this amazing resource into a Center for Modernism for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  To all of you who have taken the Glass House Visitor Challenge already – thank you.  Your support is greatly appreciated and inspires everyone who comes to visit the Glass House to join our efforts at modern preservation.
