The Philip Johnson Glass House, a National Trust Historic Site, offers its 47-acre campus as a catalyst for the preservation and interpretation of modern architecture, landscape, and art; and as a canvas for inspiration and experimentation honoring the legacy of Philip Johnson (1906-2005) and David Whitney (1939-2005).

Dine with Design engages the inspirational and cultivated landscape and gardens of the Glass House with the creativity and talent of contemporary chefs and artisans, continuing the multi-disciplinary, collaborative history of the site.

The 2011 Glass House season introduces three new tours focusing on Art, Architecture and Landscape, and Conversations in Context, an evening program series offering visitors the opportunity to join leaders in art, design and preservation to experience the site through a contemporary lens followed by a dialogue and reception.

Hailed as the “the fall’s most beautiful cookbook” by Newsweek, Harvest to Heat has struck a chord nationwide.  As Alice Waters raves, “Harvest to Heat represents a new generation of cookbook, one that celebrates the crucial relationship between chefs, farmers, and artisans, documenting this connection with rich, candid photography and stories from the field and kitchen alike.”

From the shepherd who breeds select herds to the artisan who produces heirloom tomatoes, farmers have become an invaluable source of inspiration to some of our nation’s most distinguished and creative chefs. Harvest to Heat: Cooking with America’s Best, Chefs, Farmers, and Artisans celebrates this unique relationship and their shared passion for food, excellence, education and philanthropy.
