The Philip Johnson Glass House is not defined by its walls, it is defined by its views.
The Glass House served as the dramatic backdrop for a reading of the play, “The Glass House” that featured performances by Academy Award-nominated actor David Strathairn and Golden Globe-nominated actress Hope Davis. This singular event celebrated efforts underway to purchase and preserve land and views adjacent to the Glass House in order to preserve Philip Johnson’s design vision and the experience of the Glass House for future generations. The play “The Glass House” reveals the compelling story of one of America’s most significant works of modern architecture, the Farnsworth House, also a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Written by June Finfer, and produced and directed by Kyle and Evan Bergman, this exciting new play explores the dynamic conflicts between architect and patron, competition between great minds and egos, seduction, love and betrayal.
